Book Review for A Workbook of Ethical Case Scenarios in Applied Behavior Analysis by Daren J. Sush and Adel C. Najdowski
I have had the pleasure of obtaining a copy of A Workbook of Ethical Case Scenarios in Applied Behavior Analysis and reading though it over the last few weeks. This is such an amazing example of an ethical considerations book. The scenarios presented are relevant, thorough and numerous. Before all the scenarios are presented the authors first describe the purpose of this workbook and then describe how to analyze the scenarios to determine potential ethical violations or activities that if continued may lead to ethical violations. The examples provide a wide array of situations that both a BCBA or an RBT my find themselves in or observing in the future. These examples will serve as a great backdrop and starting point when practitioners begin to navigate their own potential ethical scenarios. This book is not only useful for practitioners as guidance for navigating their own ethical scenarios, but it is useful for BCBA’s who are supervising those who are pursuing their certification. These scenarios are able to easily develop healthy discussion of the situation while also generating novel solutions. If you are looking to supplement your Ethics class, add to your supervision meetings or presence case scenarios at staff meetings, this book has enough scenarios to keep staff discussing and finding solutions.
